River Bluff 2000

Predecessor to the Pigs Eye Punisher.  It was billed as having 2000 feet of climbing in around 30 miles.

Originally ridden somewhere around 1980.  We had a group of about 10 at the start and maybe 7 finished.  It started at the State Capitol, across the Wabasha Bridge, and up Ohio St.  Proceeded up and down through South St Paul and Inver Grove Heights to the old toll bridge.  There was no one at the top of 65th St to award a "prime".  Went across the river and back upriver through Newport and Battle Creek area.  There was a possible stop for beer in Newport (Rolling Stone Bar) but the group nixed that idea (A&W instead).  We did stop
for beers Downtown at Mears Park at the end of the ride, there was a music festival going on.  We never made it back to the Capitol as a group.

The map was drawn "by hand" using the then-new CAD system at DOT.  Long before Map My Ride.
